The ND and the Archivist went to NorEastCon in Sturbridge, MA, and found themselves to be the only Canadians there.  They had a liaison with the IPMS/USA National Convention organizers to set up the game plan for the ‘Best Canadian Subject’ award at Virginia Beach.

Action to be taken by:

It was discussed and agreed upon that, in addition to the traditional engraved beer mug, a standard National Convention plaque would also be awarded to the winner.  The Exec members going to the Convention will be working through the IPMS/USA organizers to procure a regular award.

We received an
e-mail from Lagos Nigeria, asking us to partake in their plan to abscond with USD $26.5 million.  All we do is give them a bank account number, they’ll put the money in it, and we keep 30% of the gross.  Hmm, sounds a bit too good to be true.

RT Editor

RT 27/4 is ready for proof-reading.

The printer guy that Jean Gratton knows will be getting a shot at printing RT 27/5 as a test run.  His prices are very competitive and his quality appears to meet our stringent standards.

In the never-ending saga, the Editor has still not yet purchased his CD-burner.

Treasurer
John is still off on an Italian holiday, but we are apparently assured that all our lire, uh, dollars are safely squared away.

5.1

Membership/Circulation

Since the last Exec meeting we’ve had 10 renewals and 3 new members, all with good comments and compliments on the forms.   We are gratified but sense a conspiracy here…..

6.1

Archivist

Randy “thought about calling" Mike Belcher to finally relieve him of his last vestige of the National Executive, the filing cabinet/archives.  He apportioned blame onto the continuing poor weather in Ottawa, to say nothing of the loss by the Senators to that team down the 401.

All the groups seem to be happy with us.  See the comment at 5.1 above.

Webmaster

We’ve seen some huge hits on the website over the past couple of weeks.

Latest plans for new features are RT mailing dates, a RT Back Issue Index, and more fun.  We are sadly lacking in input from the membership and chapters.

Fred Hutcheson of IPMS St. John’s, Nfld, has been burning the midnight oil to keep his RT Index up to date.  This will be published and available for download from the website soon.

It was discussed and agreed that the published minutes should be 'sanitized' to help keep our Special Projects under wraps better.  Ooops!  My bad!

Back Issues

A current RT availability index will be put up on the web page.

An e-mail from Scott Hemsley of IPMS Buzz Beurling asked if we were planning on re-doing more T-shirts in the future.  The consensus was that we would not be marketing T-shirts as part of the IPMS Canada prodcut line, but possibly do them for very special occasions.

Special Projects

The
final draft of the article to go with a future new decal project was handed around for final review and kibbutzing.  The colour scheme of one rogue aircraft subject was finally agreed upon, and we’re going to stick with the story, right, guys?

Colour proofs of another decal sheet were shown around, to much drooling and mumbling by some Exec members.  They were drooling and mumbling before the artwork was shown, but at least it was in context now.

Exec member suggested that we might look at a Marketing Portfolio for someone to handle the ‘bidness’ and sales marketing we want to do for our retail line.  The IPMS Canada retail line of merch is the same products that members get for free or for cheap, but we also sell them to non-members for substantially higher prices.  No volunteer came forward as yet for this potential position.
