National Director

The ND brought e
veryone up to speed re the suggestion from a member that the IPMS Canada Colours Guide be put on the web site so that those without the original document would have access to the reference. Even without the Reprografikmeisters (aka Steve and Jean) being present there was some serious doubt expressed by the other members of the Executive.  The ND has explained our technical concerns of this project to said member, and also asked that he might like to provide an RT article and some colour chips to be included in RT for his another of his suggested projects.

The ND read a draft of a
'press release' officially announcing the IPMS Canada Best Canadian Subject Chapters Contest (tentatively shortened to IPMSBCSCC). This will be announced on the web site and also in the next RT. Then we’ll sit back and wait to be inundated with entries.

RT Editor

The editor presented a preliminary proof of the next RT, which was roundly commented on regarding both content and quality of design and reproduction. Bob M. will try scanning some of the photos to see if better reproduction can be achieved or whether the photos themselves are inherently poor quality.

Sid was asked to liai
se with Bob so they could brainstorm over technical production matters such as scanning, PageMaker techniques, and other things of little interest to the common man.

Jean has offered to assist in the production of RT in whichever capacity he and Sid determine. We may see an aircraft editor And an armour editor; production editor and managing editor; head honcho and flunkie; or whatever. Stand by for further developments.

Sid reports that the future articles situation seems to have improved a bit, though more aircraft articles and still needed. Names of possible material sources were bandied about and various of the executive will be applying the strong-arm.

Treasurer

John, in a single-handed attempt to save the Senators, was at a hockey game. He reports via Jamie that we are still in good financial shape, due in part, no doubt, to lower RT production costs.

5.1

Membership/Circulation

Debbie reported that about 15 new members have joined since last meeting, and renewals continue to arrive. It was pointed out that what we really need to know is the state of the membership, i.e. is it shrinking, static, or growing. This can be determined by cor
relating the number of new members and renewals to those who did not renew. She will tweak the membership program so that we will have a snapshot of this on a regular basis.

Liaison

The Chapter Charters are ready to go. Or rather they were ready to go out when the ND noticed a typo. They will be corrected and mailed out ASAP.

Jean reports that for the most part the
Chapters are pleased with our new policy of increased cooperation and communication (COOCOM).

Because Chapter Liaison is now largely provided via the website, Jean finds he has much less to do, and so he has offered to assist in RT production (see Editor, above)

Steve is away learning how to save Canada from the ho
