Old Business

Jamie has sent letter to Dave Morissette, President of IPMS/USA, regarding the oversight by their National Convention in not awarding 'the Best Canadian Subject' award.

Subject to verification, and to the best of our knowledge, the only Canadian subject which placed in the IPMS/USA National Contest at Oklahoma this year was a collection of Canadian Spitfires, by John Tate of Alberquerque, NM. Assuming that he's the only placing entry, the full resources of IPMS Canada will be brought to bear in locating John and sending him the traditional tankard.

2.2

National Director

It's been a quiet month, only a few letters, and no nuts writing in.

IPMS Canada will be sponsoring one award and giving some freebies to support IPMS Ottawa's CapCon contest in September.

RT Editor

A draft copy of RT 28/3 was shown around.  Still needs some work but is shaping up nicely.

Some re-formatting of the inside cover has been done; a side benefit to this is reducing the editorial area and potential trouble area.  A new feature will be an "In the next RT..." area.

An announcement for the next new retail decal sheet will be made in RT 28/3

The plan is to have RT 28/3 at the printer by the end of August, with a mailing date of early September.

Membership/Circulation

We've had 46 renewals and 2 new members to date following the mailing of RT 28/2.

It was decided to buy a utility-grade used computer and printer for Deb Lutz to do that magic she does with the membership database and labelling software.
to help with future planning for the organization.  On its own this process should take about one year to complete, which should cover on full volume year of RT.

Potential new Exec member Rob Blum was invited to the meeting this evening to see if he likes the Chapter Liaison portfolio.  Unfortunately he was absent this evening, due to a work commitment.

Special Projects

Finally, it can now be announced to the world.  IPMS Canada's next retail decal sheet will be covering four, 1/48 Mk.IV Mustangs from 442 Sqn in WW2.  This sheet will also include resin reproductions of the unique cowl breather louvres seen on these airplanes.

Once again the National Executive is soliciting the membership for help with ideas and/or research for future decal projects.  Each time we plan a new project a call to the membership is made, and the responses are a little disheartening.  If members have any ideas for future subjects, please send them in to us.

With the release of the 442 Sqn next retail sheet, the current price for the 111 Sqn P-40E sheet will be increased substantially from its introductory price to its full price.

A revision to the Special Products' shipping cost structure will be investigated, with the goal to have a single IPMS Canada Order Form on the webpage, and set charges for some types of orders, such as multiple copies of a decal sheet, bulk orders, etc.
