RT Editor

A mockup of RT 28/4 was shown around.  Sid is short one article at this point before putting the issue to bed.

The Co-Editor team is planning to have RT 28/4 back from the printer and in the mail before the Christmas mailing rush starts.

To further improve the quality of RT, Sid proposed that we go to a heavier cover stock to beef up the feel of the magazine.  A dummy will be prepared and weighed to see if it will affect our postage costs or not.  Assuming it doesn't put us over the top, Sid would like to introduce this change with RT 29/1.

With the renewed vigour seen in the RT publishing schedule, it was rhetorically posed, "When was the last time we put out five RTs in a year?"  One cynic retorted, "When we were still a monthly magazine..."

An interesting idea was proposed for the next 'freebie' decal sheet, in conjunction with a revived and revamped classic RT article.  If it works out as feasible, details will be announced here when the time is right.

Treasurer

No firm figures, but the word is that we're still in good shape financially.

Our old printer sent us a large bill in error.  When John queried them, we ended up with a credit for $772.00 .  Cha-ching!

Membership/Circulation

Since last meeting we've picked up 7 new members and so far approximately 47 renewals out of the 85 sent out.

We're receiving lots of good commentary and some interesting ideas for possible future decal project suggestions.

John and Jean will redouble their efforts to find a suitable (read as pre-owned) replacement for the Circulation computer and printer.

It was noted that we need to restock on membership cards, renewal forms, returnalopes, and RT envelopes.

Chapter Liaison

We've received three requests for Chapter start-up information from different groups - one in Leduc, AB; one at DeHavilland Canada in Toronto, ON; and one from a new group in the UK.  Jean has sent info to all these prospective chapters.

During a recent audit, it came to our attention that a Charter Chapter contact/President was not a member of IPMS Canada.  Jean will have a quiet word with this person.

To encourage more participation from our French-speaking membership, it was proposed that any articles received should be published in their native language, and we should make efforts to republish them with a translation on the IPMS Canada website.

Special Projects

Sales this past month:  P-40 x 6 sheets,  1/72 x 2 sheets (now depleted), Aces x 11 sheets, and the new Mustang sheet comes in at 21 copies sold to date.

Review copies of the new Mustang sheet are being sent to Modeling Madness, Aircraft Resource Center, Hyperscale, SAM and SAMI.

Several members have written in, asking for 1/72 or 1/32 decals as well as our 1/48 line. Some ideas were floated around to help out our friends in the other scales, but it was decided to wait and see how the Mustang sheet fares first.

It was again stated that the commercial sales would fund the freebie sheets for our membership, so we have to exercise good judgment in our decal subjects, for reasonably fast sales
