National Director
Jamie welcomed new National Executive member Robin Purgina to the
meeting. Apparently Robin was previously invited to a secret Exec
meeting to be vetted by the inner cabinet members of the Executive, and was
found to be up to our high standards.
We received a letter from the folks at SAM Publications in the UK
regarding a discount offer to our membership on their Modellers Datafile
publications. Jamie will be exploring the issue further to see if we can make
this offer work for our members.
The 2005 Chapter Charters are just about ready to be mailed out to the
Chapters.

RT Editor
Sid outlined the contents of RT 29/3 - a P-51D, Me 262, Malta Spitfires, and
the Vespa SPG. The Editorial team is still looking at having a finished issue printed and ready for
stuffing in the third week of March.
Future RTs will feature the Cdn Army's
M109 SPG, RCAF Mustang IIIs, and more Canadian WWII vehicles.
The Editors are once asking the membership to consider writing something up
for an article for RT. Something will be put into the next RT to
encourage members to get involved.
The RT print run is being reduced to 600 issues. Kind of makes them
collectors items as soon as we mail them out, doesn't it?

Treasurer
All the bills are paid and we're doing well
John's phone-in report expressed a concern that our bank account is getting a
bit too large for comfort. Since John was absent this evening, the rest
of the Exec felt confident that we could spend the money somehow.
However, just to make sure that we're not going to get ourselves into a corner
by overspending any possible surplus, John
was tasked to research and produce the current dollar numbers for membership service
costs.
If it turns out that we do have a genuine surplus as mentioned in 4.2, we will be exploring the possibility of
increasing the colour content of RT, but we want to make sure that we're
not going to have to reduce it again in the future.
Postage costs went up in January this year, so we may have to adjust our
membership dues again.
We're going to look at the PayPal option more seriously again. The hope
is that we can do an online renewal system and make it easier for folks to buy
from the Special Products line. Jamie offered to take this one on.

Membership/Circulation
Since last meeting we've picked up 4 new members. 51 out of 82 renewals
have come back since the last RT mailing.
Debbie Lutz would like to step down from her portfolio to concentrate on her
other volunteer activities. Despite obvious signs to the contrary,
apparently we're not enough of a hardship case for Deb to do charity work
on. (please note that this is written with tongue firmly in cheek).
The idea of a new survey is now considered to be a real good idea. Steve
will get off his butt and revise the old 1994 survey and trim it down to what we'd really like to know from the membership.
If we can figure a way to do it, then we'd like to find a way to give members
the option to complete the survey online via the website.

Special Projects
Sales since last meeting include 19 Aces sheets, 2 - P-40 sheets, and 4 -
Mustang sheets. There are only 15 copies left of the Aces sheet
We have been facing up to the sad fact that our retail decal sheets are just
not selling fast enough to justify the amount of money we have tied up in the
stock. It was therefore decided to get out of the pure retail sheet
business and not produce any new ones. Future decal sales will be
limited to whatever sheets are left over after a freebie sheet is distributed
to the membership.
